Despite not being the most flexible person, I do love some yoga when I can fit it in.
I occasionally do a class where, rather than show the poses, the instructor will 'bingo call' out the poses, and I'm just new enough (and a bit of a slow learner) that this creates some challenges for me. So I generally have to just copy the person in front of me, 'fake it until you make it'. But I liked the idea of creating a guide to yoga poses using an Action Man (similar to GI Joe) doll that I have. It just appeals to my quirky sense of humour.
DISCLAIMER: obviously neither myself nor Action Man are yoga instructors, and this guide is for an aid to memory and for amusement only. To breakdown the poses in more detail, check out the following website, who have human models and proper descriptions!
And, obviously, Action Man is a doll, not a human body. So some moves here are compromises. Any good instructor will encourage you to work with your body to find the compromises which work for you.
